Welcome Home Dad and Praise the Lord! After 7 days of hospitalization, my husband is home. We thought he had the flu, but we were wrong, so wrong. Friday we decided to take him to urgent care to see if we could get something to control his temperature. He mentioned that he had a pain in his side, where his appendix used to be. The physician told us not to panic, but to get to the ER immediately. Six hours and a cat scan later, the ER physician informed us that it was most likely a tumor. It took a few more days to find out that it wasn't, but instead was an infectious disease. After a surgical procedure and several other cat scans, mri, etc. he remains a mystery patient, but hopefully is on the mend. Life can be so scary. I'm so grateful for so many things this week. For a wonderful hospital, the care of several specialists, friends, prayers and all of Mark's family that helped take care of our kiddos this week. I've been home for 10 minutes and now I'm off to take my daughter to piano lessons. This is what I've been dreaming of all week. Getting back to my routine. I hope I don't take it for granted anytime soon.

Oh how scary!!!!! Those mystery illnesses can be ever so unsettling! Maddy had a few of those as a toddler and cause several frantic races to the emergency room. So glad he is home and getting better, no matter how slow...here's to a restful nights sleep...even if it is still a few days away!
